3 min prep + cooking Serves 1

Get the recipe

What you need

  • 1 full GUT CHECK packet
  • 8 fl oz hot water
  • 1–2 teaspoons honey or agave, optional
  • 1 lemon slice or an extra squeeze of lemon, optional

Make it

  1. Empty the full packet into a large heat-safe mug. Add a splash of hot water and stir into a smooth mixture.
  2. Stir in the remaining water. Sweeten with honey or agave if you like, then finish with a lemon slice or extra squeeze.
  3. Let cool to a comfortable sipping temperature. Stir again as needed; the powders may settle. Use a spoon for hot liquids rather than frothing a full mug.

A little ingredient context

Ginger and turmeric both come from underground stems called rhizomes. Your spice drawer has a family tree.

Read the plant facts at Kew

Culinary turmeric powder and concentrated curcumin extract are different ingredients. Use what each recipe specifies. A whole Blendz packet also contains other ingredients, so it is not a spoon-for-spoon substitute for a single spice.
